The company

The decision of the Council of Ministers of USSR, on March 30^th, 1952 predetermined the building of the medical glass factory.

There were some conditions for the medical glass plant - the necessity to stop the shortage of medical glassware in the Ural region and the whole trans-Ural region, the close location of the main raw material resources (sand, chalk, soda) and energetically resources (natural gas, electrical energy).

The first years of construction and launching of the factory were difficult in every respect. To speed up the construction the gunmen-workers formed teams of bricklayers and in the early winter of 1955 they began to build workshops and furnaces for the Alekseevskiy brickworks. It became the supplier of bricks for the medical glass factory.

The difficulties of launching the first furnaces were caused by the fact that the charge was prepared by hand. In spite of this, the first glass melting furnace was put into operation in 1958, December 31. On the same day at 6 p.m. a new working day for the Tuimazy glass-makers began. The fire of this furnace was started by the glass-makers A.I.Shishkin and S.Grohov.

On 1959, January 21, the first tons of glass-tubing were produced. All together within 1959 21 million flasks were made of glass rod and 8.4 million ampoules and 0.9 million glass mass ware items were made. The personnel of the factory were 624 people.

Nowadays OJSC “Tuimazy-steklo” is the largest manufacturer in the Russian Federation specialized in medical and food glass production. It has experienced all the stages of formation and development and has kept the skilled workers and the school of glass melting. The company’s output became higher. “Tuimazy-Steklo” extended the partnership with drug manufactures in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States.

7 glass melting furnaces are working twenty-four hours a day. The factory produces glass ware of the following marks: neutral glass HC-1-А, НС-3, amber glass ОС, white medicine glass МТО. In future it is planned to produce higher marks of glass.

OJSC “Tuimazy-steklo” is unique because it combines the manufacture of the following groups: ampoules, vials made of glass-tubing and glass mass ware, glass rod. Our constant consumers are chemical pharmaceutical companies, chemist’s shops, veterinary stations and hemotransfusion stations. The geographical range of places to sell the products to is wide – Russia and countries of the near abroad.

The factory can produce glass packaging for food, perfumery, cosmetic and technical products. 2007 the production of vials for corvalolum ( vol. 50 ml), vinegar bottles (vol. 180 ml) and bottles for blood storage, transfusion and infusion medication (vol. 250 ml). 2008 the bottles of 450 ml were began to produce.  

The plant is working according to the international standard ISO-9001.

OJSC “Tuimazy-steklo” is often an active participant of Russian and international excibitions. Our factory can offer a multi-purpose pack with an additional sealing and a comfortable packaging to any drug manufacturer.
